The Playing Human Conference

Welcome to The Playing Human Conference!

One of the most exciting conferences of the year is opening the doors to delegates travelling from all over the world to experience two days of play, serious learning, and connection. Watch the short video below to meet our fantastic keynotes!

Although this event is organised by UnitedMind Ltd, a private limited company, the event is a non-profit event where all profit will be shared between participating registered charities.

We will be filling Conway Hall with people, laughter, chat, fun, tales of joy from around the world, and energy that is unsurpassed by any measure.

The idea came from a recent article I read about the importance of playing as an adult and my mind wandered back to an exhibition I visited in my teens at the art gallery, Louisiana, north of Copenhagen (worth a visit).

The exhibition was called Homo Ludens – the playing human.

This led to further inspiration as I was reminded of a book I came across back then, the book written in 1938 by Dutch historian and cultural theorist Johan Huizinga, “Homo Ludens”. A bit of context: http://www.gamestudies.org/0601/articles/rodriges.

We are very excited about this opportunity to bring awesome speakers together to share their view on play, happiness, laughter and life.

Please make sure you get your place at the early bird fee of £300 as it will not be around forever – until the end of the year you can book your place at only £250 including vegetarian lunch both days.

After a great success in London with Pady O’Connor and Patch Adams we are excited to welcome them both back on 27-28 September 2018 to a conference about the playing human.
